Donor Sperm

Many individuals who may not have otherwise been able to conceive due to male infertility or lack of a male partner are able to achieve their dream of becoming a parent via donor sperm insemination.

At Boston IVF, we are highly experienced in donor insemination cases. We routinely provide individuals and couples with open access to all fertility treatments, regardless of sexual orientation.

OUR DONOR SPERM PROGRAM

Our IVF locations in Albany, Rochester, and Syracuse are part of a national Boston IVF network that has assisted in over 150,000 babies since 1986. Since then, we have successfully performed and treated thousands of donor sperm cases and remain at the forefront of third-party reproduction in Central NY and the USA.

Our program offers close partnerships with several of the largest, award-winning online sperm cryobanks to help you choose an appropriate donor.

Be sure to speak with our fertility experts in Albany, Rochester, or Syracuse to learn more about accessing our sperm donor resources.

SPERM DONOR CERTAINTY
All sperm donors are rigorously screened prior being accepted into its donor program. Each donor has already received an exhaustive medical, genetic, and psychological screening, as well as a detailed examination of background and family medical history.

SPERM DONOR ACCESS
Browse donor websites, search donor profiles, and read comprehensive applications which will provide you with pages of information about a donor’s medical history, aptitudes, work history, education and personal statements.

SPERM DONOR PRICES
Our partners offer prices that are dramatically less expensive than other large national cryobanks.

SPERM DONOR SUPPORT
Our Third-Party Reproduction Team is comprised of staff who are dedicated to making your journey to parenthood as effective and stress-free as possible. They will serve as the main contact for all donor-related matters and be by your side every step of the way.

WHO CHOOSES DONOR SPERM?

CHOOSING A SPERM DONOR

  • our fertility team will recommend reputable sperm banks and help you to navigate the selection process
  • all sperm donors are medically and psychologically screened
  • all sperm donors are screened for their family medical history
  • all donor sperm has frozen and quarantined for six months before it is released for use
  • this quarantine period rules out any infectious or sexually transmitted diseases
  • cryobank donors are anonymous, but they often provide a childhood picture and a personal statement
  • demographic information including hair color, race, height, education, and a career history is also available

DONOR SPERM PROCESS

Donor sperm can be used with IVF or IUI. The most common and first fertility option is intrauterine insemination (IUI). If sperm quality is lower, the amount of sperm available is limited, or an IUI was not successful, then the donor sperm can also be used with IVF.

If you are using a sperm donor with IVF, you will still receive fertility medications to prepare your eggs for retrieval. Once retrieved, your eggs will be combined with the donor sperm and your resulting embryos will then be transferred back to your uterus for implantation.
